Dangerously cold wind chill readings are expected this weekend with an extended stretch of single digits to below zero temperatures and wind chills. While a few flurries will be possible, we are not expecting much precipitation this weekend.

The system for next Tuesday into Wednesday is looking warmer for us at this time and may end up being mainly rain. Stay tuned for any updates and changes with that system.

The dangerous cold continues, but there is some 'relief' in sight early next week.
Chances for some additional snow flurries/showers continue in our forecast.

Here is our update from our friends at NWS Paducah;
Light to moderate areas of snow have brought light accumulations to the Evansville Tri-State this morning. The snow will push into the southern Kentucky Pennyrile and then out of the region by mid-morning. A few slick spots are possible especially on untreated side roads.

Dangerously cold wind chills of zero to -10 degrees are forecast tonight through Saturday morning, and a Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire region.

We're continuing to follow the risk of a wintry mix with light snow or ice accumulations Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. At this time, confidence remains low regarding precipitation type and amounts, and anything from just light rain to a more impactful wintry mix are still on the table.

[4:15 AM CST Friday 1/30 Radar Update] A band of light to moderate snow is producing light accumulations across the Evansville Tri-State. This snow will move into the Kentucky Pennyrile through 9 AM CST. Be alert for a few slippery spots on the morning commute.

Don't even think about putting any cold weather gear away!
Here is the latest from NWS Paducah;

Everything is still on track for another Arctic front to pass through the area late tonight into Friday morning. This will bring dangerously cold wind chill readings through late Saturday night/early Sunday morning.

Light snow showers are possible tonight into Friday morning and additional snow showers through the day Saturday. We are not expecting much more than a dusting to a half inch; however, this could still lead to slippery travel at times along with reduced visibility.

Refreeze is still likely to lead to black ice development after sunset tonight.

Still low confidence in what happens with next week's system (Tuesday/Wednesday).
