On Saturday October 10th the Irondale High School Marching Band competed alongside 37 other groups at the 2026 Youth In Music & Minnesota State Marching Band Championships at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN. At the Class AAA Preliminary Awards Ceremony, the Marching Knights were named the Minnesota Class AAA State Marching Band Champion. Additionally, they received the Outstanding Winds Award, Outstanding Visual Award, Outstanding Percussion Award, and Outstanding Color Guard Award in Class AAA. The Marching Knights advanced into the open class finals competition later that evening, where they placed 3rd overall and were the second highest placing band from Minnesota regardless of class. This is Irondale’s sixth consecutive state marching band title (2021-2026).
