🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day from the Mounds Police Department 🇺🇸

Today, we proudly celebrate Flag Day and honor the Stars and Stripes that have represented the freedoms, sacrifices, and values of our nation for nearly 250 years.

The American flag is more than a symbol to the Officers of the Mounds Police Department, it is a reminder of our oath to serve and protect our community while upholding the Constitution of the United States.

Our officers proudly display the American flag in four places on our uniforms and equipment. It is worn above our name tags by our military veteran officers, displayed on both shoulders of our uniforms, and prominently featured on our badges and vehicles. These symbols serve as a daily reminder of our commitment to service, duty, and the citizens we are honored to protect.

Mounds Police Department is proud to be an agency with deep military roots, with 80% of our department having served or currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. The flag represents not only our nation, but also the sacrifices made by those who have defended it both at home and abroad.

As you see the American flag flying today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the freedoms it represents and the generations of Americans who have stood beneath it.

God Bless the United States of America, and God Bless the Town of Mounds.

🚨🚔 DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE. NOT A RIGHT.🚔🚨

Every time you get behind the wheel of a vehicle, you are operating a machine that weighs thousands of pounds and travels at speeds capable of causing serious injury or death in a matter of seconds.

Distracted driving, impaired driving, excessive speed, reckless behavior, and ignoring traffic laws don't just put the driver at risk. It endangers every family, child, motorcyclist, pedestrian, and fellow motorist sharing the road.

A single poor decision can change lives forever.

The Mounds Police Department wants to remind everyone that traffic laws exist for a reason: to protect lives. When drivers choose to disregard those laws, they place innocent people in danger and will be held accountable.

Depending on the violation, consequences may include:
• Traffic citations and fines
• Driver's license suspension
• Vehicle impoundment
• Arrest and criminal charges
• Significant financial liability
• Injury or loss of life

Our officers actively patrol the streets of Mounds to ensure the safety of our community. If you choose to drive recklessly, impaired, or in violation of Oklahoma law, there is a very real possibility that your trip will end with a traffic stop, citation, arrest, or worse.

Please make responsible choices:
✅ Wear your seatbelt
✅ Obey speed limits
✅ Put your phone away
✅ Never drive impaired
✅ Stay alert and courteous
✅ Maintain Insurance
✅ Be a licensed driver

The safest traffic stop is the one that never has to happen.

Help us keep Mounds safe, please drive responsibly and look out for one another.
