This is our second Chicken BBQ Dinner fundraiser. Have you always wanted to drive through a firehouse? This is your chance! Enter off of our North Main Street entrance, drive into the station, place your order and drive out the engine bay. No need to get out of your vehicle. Please note that we prepare a certain number of dinners and are not sure when we will be sold out. So, come early and thanks for supporting the Fire Company.

The members and officers of the MAVFC would like to congratulate Assistant Chief Tom Gartner on his retirement from Montgomery County Maryland – Fire & Rescue Service. Chief Gartner worked his last shift today, completing more than 39 years of dedicated service.
For those who have had the pleasure of knowing Chief Gartner, you know he is not one who enjoys being in the spotlight—but today, it is well deserved.

Tommy is a true firemen’s fireman, known for being calm, cool, and collected on the fireground. He’s the epitome of a seasoned company officer. While he may be retiring from his career, he plans to continue serving the MAVFC for many years to come.

Congratulations, Chief, on an outstanding career and thank you for your service to the citizens of Montgomery County and the Mount Airy community.

We would like to congratulate one of our members, Firefighter/EMT Trista Christiansen, on graduating from the 2025-2026 EST program last night. We are also proud to announce that she received the Student of the Year Award.

Even though she was still in high school, Trista has been on the line for numerous working fires over the past year and is one of our top responders. If you’ve called us over the last year, there’s a good chance Trista was there to help.

The Christiansen family is no stranger to the fire service, and Trista proudly follows in the footsteps of her parents, Bobby and Christina.

Congratulations, Trista! We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing all that you achieve in the future.
