Want to have some fun? !🤩

We are looking for volunteers (adults, teenagers, kiddos) who are willing to be patients and participate in our upcoming Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training next Wednesday 9/2.

🚒Your participation will help our firefighters and emergency responders practice managing a large-scale incident involving multiple patients, where quick decisions, clear communication, teamwork, and coordination are critical. MCI training is extremely important because these incidents can quickly overwhelm normal emergency response resources, and realistic training allows us to identify challenges, improve our response plans, and build the skills needed to work efficiently under pressure. 🚑

If you would like to participate as a volunteer patient, please complete the form below. We have room for 40 patients, so sign up quickly to reserve your spot!

We greatly appreciate our community volunteers who are willing to give their time and patience to help us train so we can be better prepared to serve our community when a real emergency occurs.

The Marion County Clerk’s office is accepting both candidate and voters’ pamphlet filings for the proposed Mt. Angel- Monitor Fire District Board of Directors for the November 3rd, 2026, General Election.

The deadline for both candidate filings and submission for the Marion Country Voters’ Pamphlet is tomorrow (8/25/26) by 5pm. We will have a staff member available until 8:00pm today (8/24/26) for any questions or to accept any filings.

🚒 Another Deployment to Protect Oregon

The Monitor Fire District and Mt. Angel Fire District continue to work together to support wildfire response efforts across the state.
Today, Division Chief B. Hauth and Captain B. Gendhar deployed on Monitor T989 and are headed to the Wright Springs Fire, north of Klamath Falls.
This deployment is another example of the strong partnership between our neighboring fire districts and the commitment our firefighters make to protecting communities wherever they are needed. We wish them a safe deployment and thank them for their dedication and service.

- - PRESS RELEASE - -

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on August 7, 2026, Mt. Angel Fire District was dispatched to a reported tree fire at the Bavarian Village Mobile Court in Mt. Angel.
Division Chief 461 arrived first on scene, followed shortly by Engine 455. Upon arrival, crews found the reported fire to be a residence heavily involved with fire, and the incident was upgraded to a structure fire response.

Initial reports indicated a person was possibly trapped inside the home.

Due to the significant fire involvement and potential life hazard, the incident was further upgraded to a Second Alarm.

Additional resources were requested from Monitor Fire District, Silverton Fire District, Woodburn Fire District, Hubbard Fire District, and Woodburn Ambulance.

Firefighters from Engine 455 immediately initiated an aggressive fire attack while simultaneously conducting a search of the residence. During search operations, crews located one deceased occupant inside the home.

Fire crews continued suppression efforts and successfully contained the fire, which was deemed under control at approximately 2:30 a.m.

The initial investigation was conducted by the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office and Marion Polk Fire Investigation. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.

Mt. Angel Fire District extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic loss.

Mt. Angel Fire District would also like to remind the community of the critical importance of working smoke alarms. Smoke alarms provide early warning during a fire, giving occupants valuable time to escape and significantly increasing the chances of survival. Residents are encouraged to test smoke alarms monthly, replace batteries as needed, and ensure smoke alarms are installed on every level of the home and outside sleeping areas. Working smoke alarms remain one of the most effective tools in protecting lives during residential fires.

🚒🚓 National Night Out 🚒🚓

Mt. Angel Fire District and Monitor Fire District had a fantastic time attending National Night Out and connecting with the communities we proudly serve.

Events like these provide a great opportunity to meet neighbors, answer questions, share fire and life safety information, and strengthen the relationships that help keep our communities safe.
Thank you to everyone who came out to visit, enjoy the activities, and spend the evening with us.

A quick reminder that the second and final public hearing before the Marion County Board of Commissioners on the Mt. Angel-Monitor fire district consolidation is tonight, Monday, July 27, at 6:00 PM at the Mt. Angel Fire Station, 300 Monroe St., Mt. Angel.

At this hearing the Board will consider final formation of the district and referral of the measure to the November ballot. We will be presenting what the new district will look like, including the boundary, governance, and how the consolidation strengthens fire and emergency services for both communities.

The commissioners would also love to hear public testimony on why this consolidation is important. If you are willing to share a few words tonight, whether as a member, board member, neighbor, or business owner, your voice will make a real difference. Even a brief statement about what reliable fire and EMS service means to you carries weight.
