Last night, the 200 Club of Morris County recognized our firefighters Christopher Merring, Arthur Scofield, Adrian Vargas, and 2nd Lieutenant Sean Whiteaker with the Meritorious Award for their extraordinary courage and professionalism during an ice rescue in February 2025.
We often say, “This is our job,” and it is. But answering the call under conditions like those goes beyond duty. It reflects character, courage, and a selfless commitment to placing others before oneself.
As my mentor, Chief Mike D’Arco, always said, “We are here to help those who cannot help themselves.” On that day, that principle was not just words; it was put into action.
Congratulations!!!

Please help us help you!! Please remove snow from around fire hydrants. Help neighbors who might not be able to clean it themselves as that fire hydrant might just save your home.

Snow covered fire hydrants can delay firefighters when every second counts! A room and contents fire can become fully engulfed in just 3 to 5 mins.

We thank you in advance for your help!!!
