We have glassware called snack sets or party sets that we no longer use. If anyone is interested in these come into the library during business hours. They will be in the basement with the books and all are free. First come first serve.

SEEKING CLEANING QUOTES

The Mount Ayr Public Library is actively seeking an individual or group to submit quotes to conduct a deep cleaning of both levels of the historic building.
The work would include floors, shelves, woodwork, kitchen, restroom, entryway, stairs, inside windows, etc. Details of the specific work proposed by the contractor should accompany the quote. The library is available for inspection during regular library hours.
As soon as possible, interested individuals should submit their detailed quote along with their name, phone number, and email address in person during regular library hours or by email ([email protected]). The library board will review the quotes at its April 9 board meeting and may request additional information prior to accepting any quote.

NOW HIRING

The Mount Ayr Public Library is actively seeking to hire a part-time library assistant.
The successful applicant should be comfortable with technology and be able to utilize email and other online communication, complete online reports, and learn the library’s online circulation system.
Other duties would include working with library patrons of all ages, planning library programs, handling reference requests, and fulfilling other responsibilities commonly associated with operating a small public library.
Hours and wages to be determined.
As soon as possible, interested individuals should submit their name, phone number, and email address in person during regular library hours, by phone (641-464-2159), or by email ([email protected]). The library board will review the list of applicants at its April 9 board meeting and may request additional information prior to scheduling interviews.

The Mount Ayr Public Library board of trustees is accepting bids to paint the exterior wood trim and downspouts on the historic building.
Bid forms with project specifications are available at the library during regular hours or on the library’s page.
Bids are due by 4 p.m. on Monday, April 6, NOT April 4 as stated on the bid form.

We have free non fiction books, cookbooks, and puzzles in our basement for anyone who would like them. They will be on a table so take as many as you like. Come to the basement during business hours and they must be picked up before April 22nd. Our back door will be unlocked so you can just come in that door. Free for anyone.

Iowa Public Radio will have an interview with our Librarian, Mary Kathryn Gepner at 10:15 am Thursday, March 12th They will talk about third spaces for the people in our community to have a place to get together. It is 1040 WHO radio.
