Join us on Saturday, July 4th, for the Mount Carmel America 250 Main Street Celebration!

Bring your family, friends, lawn chairs, and your patriotic spirit as we celebrate our nation’s independence.

🎸 Live Music by Blues Drivers and Gents & Liars
🎆 Fireworks Show at 10:00 PM
🕡 Celebration Begins at 6:30 PM with the Anthem and recognising local veterans.
📍 Main Street, Mount Carmel (Road Closes at 6:00 PM, detours will start earlier)

As America begins celebrating its 250th birthday, there’s no better place to spend Independence Day than in our community that proudly honors our nation’s history, traditions, and values.

Beginning Monday, July 13, 2026, the Town of Mount Carmel will implement a new garbage collection schedule, in cooperation with the City of Kingsport. Residential garbage routes will be condensed to Monday and Tuesday service only.

Over the coming weeks, stickers will be placed on garbage cans to notify residents of their new collection day.

Yesterday marked an exciting step forward for our community as the Town of Mount Carmel Board of Mayor and Aldermen joined Darrell Sherer from Goodwill and Sullivan County Solid Waste Director Mark Torbett to officially cut the ribbon on the new Mount Carmel Recycling Center in partnership with Sullivan County.

The new recycling center will provide residents with a more convenient way to recycle, reduce waste, and help keep our community clean.

We appreciate everyone who helped make this project possible and look forward to seeing our citizens take advantage of this new resource.
