The wheeled vehicle mechanic is primarily responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles.

Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment systems
Inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacement, adjusting and testing of wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems and components
Service automotive electrical systems including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems
Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations

Job training for a wheeled vehicle mechanic requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

OVERVIEW
The cyber network defender performs specialized computer network defense duties, including infrastructure support, incident response, auditing and managing. The cyber network defender also protects against and detects unauthorized activity in the cyberspace domain and uses a variety of tools to analyze and respond to attacks.

JOB DUTIES
• Tests, implements and deploys infrastructure hardware and software
• Responds to crisis or urgent situations within the network to mitigate immediate and potential cyber threats
• Uses defensive measures and information collected from a variety of sources to identify, analyze, and report events that occur or might occur within the network in order to protect information, information systems, and networks from threats
• Provides detailed analysis reports as necessary
• Uses mitigation, preparedness, and response and recovery approaches as needed.
• Conducts assessments of threats and vulnerabilities

REQUIREMENTS
In order to qualify as a cyber network defender, the successful candidate must have:
• An SSG, MOS immaterial, with at least four years of experience in IA and IT. This experience must be verified by the personnel development officer
• Top Secret Security Clearance

TRAINING
Job training for 25D Cyber Network Defender is conducted under the auspices of the USA Signal School at Fort Gordon, GA. Contact your commanding officer for inquiries regarding waivers.

Cargo specialists help ensure Army forces receive supplies, weapons, equipment and mail — on a daily basis, all over the world. They are primarily responsible for transferring or supervising the transfer of passengers, cargo and equipment to and from air, land and water transport by manual and mechanical methods.

JOB DUTIES
• Inspect, count and document cargo utilizing both manual and automated data processing systems
• Load and unload supplies and equipment from ships, docks, beaches, railheads, boxcars, warehouses, motor vehicles and aircraft
• Operate and maintain all types and sizes of winches, cranes and forklifts
• Create load plans for air shipment and ocean liner vessels
• Operate ocean liner vessel equipment

REQUIREMENTS
Those who want to serve must first take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.

TRAINING
Job training for a cargo specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Some of the skills you’ll learn are:
• Operation and care of forklifts, power winches, container handlers and cranes
• Techniques for loading and storing cargo
• Techniques for planning and scheduling cargo shipments
• Safety procedures for handling potentially dangerous cargo

HELPFUL SKILLS
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as container handlers, forklifts and cranes
• Interest in working around airport, railways, seaports and ocean beach terminals
• Enjoy physical work
• Interest in business mathematics

The avionic mechanic performs maintenance on tactical-communications-security, communication, navigation and flight control equipment.

JOB DUTIES
• Perform maintenance checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment
• Maintain common/special tools and equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose repairs
• Maintain shop and bench stock for aircraft avionics equipment

REQUIREMENTS

TRAINING
Job training for an avionic mechanic requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 25 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field.

Some of the skills you’ll learn are:
• Restore avionic systems and subsystems
• Basic electronics theory
• Common soldering and systems-installation practices

• Preference in mathematics and shop mechanics
