Today marked an exciting milestone for SAPA Transmission, Inc. and Macomb County as we celebrated the groundbreaking of the company’s new advanced manufacturing facility in Shelby Township.

SAPA’s $163 million investment will create more than 300 jobs and further strengthen Macomb County’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and the defense industry.

Today’s groundbreaking represents more than the start of construction, it reflects SAPA’s continued commitment to Macomb County and the power of collaboration between business, local communities and economic development partners.

We are proud to have SAPA growing here in Macomb County and look forward to seeing this project take shape.

United Shore Professional Baseball League has officially opened its new headquarters in Downtown Utica, thanks to nearly $1 million in revitalization and placemaking support from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and $450,000 in Brownfield Redevelopment funds from Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

These investments transformed a former landfill into a vibrant spot, featuring office space, JJ’s Doghouse Restaurant and a new team retail shop. The project will create more than 40 new jobs and continues the strong redevelopment momentum inspired by Jimmy John’s Field.
