"The purpose of the Macomb County Circuit Court is to serve the public by providing a fair, expeditious and impartial forum for the resolution of civil and criminal matters through the rule of law." The 16th Judicial Circuit Court (Macomb County) is a trial court of general jurisdiction, which means that it handles all types of caes except those given by state law to another court. The Criminal Di

vision handles all Macomb County felony cases and some serious misdemeanor cases. The Family Division handles all domestic relations and juvenile matters including delinquency, abuse, neglect, and adoption cases. Governor Gretchen Whitmer Appoints Judge James Maceroni to MI Indigent Defense Commission - Judge Maceroni serves on the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Macomb County, MI and earned a JD from Wayne State University Law School. He is appointed as a member submitted by the Michigan Judges Association for a term starting July 23, 2026 and expiring April 1, 2030. Judge Maceroni succeeds James Fischer, whose term has expired.
