Get ready for an afternoon of fall fun, family activities, live music, and community spirit! Join us for the 4th Annual Mt. Crested Butte Fall Festival on Saturday, October 3, from 12โ€“4 p.m. at Ted Scheske Park & Pavilion.

๐ŸšŒ Skip the parking hassle! Free shuttles from will run continuously from the CBMR dirt parking lot to Ted Scheske Park from 11:45 am to 4:15 pm Walk, bike, or take the free bus!

๐Ÿšจ Please note: Public parking is not permitted at the park. Only ADA-accessible and vendor parking will be available on-site. Parking along Gothic Road is prohibited, and vehicles may be ticketed or towed.

๐Ÿพ Non-service animals, outside alcohol, and weapons are not permitted.

Fire restrictions have been reduced from Stage 2 to Stage 1 due to improved conditions. Stage 1 restrictions are still in effect, so please continue to use caution and help prevent wildfires.

๐Ÿšซ Still prohibited:
โ€ข Fireworks
โ€ข Campfires and outdoor fires
โ€ข Explosive targets
โ€ข Welding/acetylene torches, except under specific conditions
โ€ข Operating small engine equipment without required spark-arresting devices
โ€ข Debris burning

โœ… Some activities are now allowed, including certain professionally conducted fireworks displays, fires in permanently constructed fire pits, portable fire devices, and stoves/lanterns when specific requirements are met.

Repairs to the Town of Mt. Crested Butte Recreation Path between Snowmass Road and Snowcrest Bridge are complete, and that section of path is once again open for residents and visitors to enjoy!

Thank you to everyone for your patience during construction. These repairs help ensure the path remains a safe, accessible, and enjoyable connection for walking, biking, and recreating in our community.

๐ŸŒฑ You may notice some landscaping is still to come. Seeding and planting will take place when conditions are more favorable, with a focus on native, drought-tolerant plants.

We appreciate your support throughout this project. Get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and we'll see you on the path!

The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is seeking community members to run for Town Council in the November 3, 2026, Regular Municipal Election. Three Town Council seats are up for election!

๐Ÿ“ Nomination Petitions will be available Tuesday, August 4, at Mt. CB Town Hall (911 Gothic Road, Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225) and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 24.

Serving on Town Council is a great opportunity to help shape the future of our community. We encourage anyone interested in making a positive impact to consider running!

Whether it's noise, parking issues, overcrowding, trash, safety concerns, or other nuisance activity, reports can be made anytime, day or night.

With extreme fire danger in our area, Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are now in effect to help protect our community, visitors, first responders, and surrounding public lands.

๐Ÿšซ Prohibited under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions:
โ€ข All personal fireworks
โ€ข Campfires, charcoal grills, and wood or coal-burning fires
โ€ข Smoking outdoors (except inside an enclosed vehicle, building, or trailer)
โ€ข Welding or any open-flame torch
โ€ข Exploding targets, tracers, and other incendiary devices
โ€ข Agricultural burns
โ€ข Operating chainsaws or other internal combustion engines without approved spark arresters and required fire safety equipment
โ€ข Driving motor vehicles off designated roads, trails, or parking areas

โœ… Allowed:
โ€ข Propane or gas grills, stoves, and lanterns with shut-off valves may be used in areas at least 3 feet away from flammable vegetation.

Due to extreme fire danger and current conditions, this year's Independence Day fireworks display in Mt. Crested Butte, CO, has been canceled. The safety of our community, visitors, first responders, and surrounding public lands is our highest priority.

๐ŸŽ‰ While the fireworks have been canceled, the party hasn't! We'd still love to celebrate with you on Friday, July 3, starting at 5 pm at the Red Lady Stage in the Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) Base Area for a FREE, family-friendly evening of fun!

Due to increasing fire danger throughout the region, Phase 1 Fire Restrictions are now in effect for the Town of Mt. Crested Butte and Gunnison County.

๐Ÿšซ NOT ALLOWED
โ€ข Personal fireworks
โ€ข Campfires or outdoor fires in temporary fire rings
โ€ข Debris burning
โ€ข Explosive targets
โ€ข Welding or open-flame torches (unless specific safety requirements are met)

โš ๏ธ SMOKING
Smoking is only allowed inside a building or vehicle, at a developed recreation site, or in an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is cleared of combustible materials.

โœ… ALLOWED
โ€ข Fires in permanently constructed fire pits/fireplaces (maximum flame height of 2 feet)
โ€ข Portable fire pits, chimineas, and tiki torches on private property
โ€ข Professional fireworks displays (unless further restricted)
โ€ข Gas, propane, and liquid-fuel stoves and lanterns
โ€ข Chainsaws and other small-engine equipment equipped with a working spark arrestor

Please use extra caution outdoors and help protect our community, forests, and public lands from wildfire.
