The Bottom Line: Our W.T. Bland Public Library in Mount Dora depends on property tax revenue! If Florida voters approve the amendment both Lake County and the City of Mount Dora would experience an increasing loss of revenue in the years ahead. 88% of the library budget is staffing. A reduction of revenue will lead to our library being open fewer hours and an inevitable reduction of services.

Congratulations to Emery, who won third place in the ages 17 & under category of our Pollinators in the Garden Photography Contest! Emery won a ribbon and a cash prize for her beautiful shot of a bee on a blanket flower, thanks to The Mount Dora Library Association!

This Friday! Adults are invited to join a native plant expert in learning about this Florida pumpkin, perfectly adapted to survive in hot, humid and even in swampy areas like the Everglades. Traditionally cultivated by the Calusa, Creek and Miccosukee peoples, Seminole pumpkins are known for being both delicious and a reliable choice for gardens across Florida.
