Our recent acquisition (thank you, The Mount Dora Library Association!) is a postcard collage of four images depicting different views of Riley's Park circa 1950. The images showcase the traveler's park entrance, the miniature vacation homes, recreation such as shuffleboard and recreational vehicle (RV) parking sites.

Riley's Park was founded by Ernest L. Riley and his daughter Thelma Beatrice Riley as well as Thelma's husband, Lelern "Grady" Simpson. It was once located at the junction of Florida Highway 19 and U.S. Highway 441, one mile west of Mount Dora. A couple of concrete buildings or structures still exist at the once bustling location.

Farewell to our Summer Learning Program! We have thoroughly enjoyed all the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, nannies and especially children who attended our summer programs. While the library mayyyy have been a little noisier than usual, we were thrilled to see you walk through our doors every morning. Thank you for choosing our library and thank you to our nonprofit sponsors for all the programs, concerts, bookmarks, refreshments, exhibits and giveaways that made it all possible - Friends of the Library Mount Dora, The Mount Dora Library Association, the GFWC Mount Dora Woman's Club and the Lake County Library System (Florida). What a great summer!
