Got to photograph a bald eagle at Taylorsville Lake State Park a couple days ago. Finally is warm enough to kayak and don't feel like I'm gonna die from hypothermia.

Ramp Update: This is Possum Ridge Boat Ramp at 7am this morning. Ramp and parking look good but LOTS of black ice. Lake is still frozen up to the ramp. Still would not recommend a launch. Stay off the ice!

Here’s the view of Possum Ridge boat ramp today. Getting lots of questions about launching on this warm, sunny day. But the ramps are still slick and the ice is still thick.

The recent weather across the state has resulted in some winter wonderland conditions in parks, but along with the fun comes a need for caution. For your safety, park visitors should never walk, skate, or allow pets on frozen ponds. Staying off the ice helps prevent serious injury or loss of life.

Our road crew in Spencer County does amazing! Park Road is back open!
