Beyond the fireworks, the parades, and the backyard barbecues, today is about a radical idea that changed the world 250 years ago: that liberty, equality, and self-determination are inherent rights worth standing up for. Independence Day is a reminder of the immense courage it took to forge a free nation, the generations of veterans who have defended it, and our shared responsibility to keep building a community where freedom thrives for everyone. Enjoy the celebrations with family and friends today, stay safe, and let’s remember the incredible legacy we carry forward together. Happy Semiquincintennial Americans!

GRANT STREET is now a Directed Patrol/Target Enforcement Area. The speed limit is 25 MPH and will be strictly enforced.

Directed Patrol means our officers are dedicating specific time to traffic enforcement in this area, and the preference for observed violations is to issue a citation.

We want to ensure all village residents and motorists are aware and can adjust their speed accordingly to help keep our village safe for everyone.
