FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Morrow County Sheriff's Office to Assume Control of The Countywide Public Safety Communications and 911 System.
The Morrow County Firefighters and Squadmens Association would like to inform the public that, effective December 22, 2024, at 0600 hours, the Morrow County Sheriff's Office will officially take over the responsibility for all Countywide Public Safety Communications and the 911 emergency Response System.

This change is part of a broader initiative to centralize and streamline emergency services across the county to ensure more efficient communication and faster response times in critical situations. The Sheriff's Office will now manage the dispatching of Fire Departments, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Law Enforcement, and other public safety agencies throughout Morrow County.

What This Means for Residents:

• Emergency Calls: When dialing 911, your call will now be routed to the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, where trained dispatchers will coordinate the appropriate response, whether it be fire, EMS, law enforcement, or a combination of services.
• Public Safety Coordination: The Sheriff's Office will handle all communication, dispatch, and coordination for emergency services across the county, helping to ensure quicker, more effective responses in times of need.

Why This Change is Important

This move to centralize communications under the Sheriff's Office will help ensure that emergency services are better coordinated and that resources are deployed more efficiently during crises. The Morrow County Firefighters and Squadmens Association remains optimistic that this transition will improve overall emergency response and public safety throughout the county.

What Residents Should Know:

• For ALL EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, continue to call 911.
• For non-emergency inquiries related to public safety, residents should contact the Morrow County Sheriff's Office directly through their non-emergency dispatch lines.

“We are fully supportive of the Sheriff's Office taking over public safety communications, as it will allow for a more unified and efficient emergency response across Morrow County. This is a positive step for the safety of our residents and the well-being of all those who work in public safety.”
