Our blessing box which is directly behind Brooks General Store at our fire station looks like it’s helping our community out. I’ve noticed many things gone, and we will be adding as we can. If you have anything that you would like to donate or bring and put in this box that is non-perishable or in date box or canned items please feel free to drop them off.

We now have our blessing box at Mount Hermon Fire Department. 36023 Hwy 1055. Directly behind Brooks General Store.
Please feel free to add to or take from this box as needed. We had been talking about this for over a year and finally it is done.

Know someone who doesn't have social media and needs alerts like burn bans? Here is the info they need. Please pass this along to your loved ones!

Several have asked how those citizens not on social media can be informed of events such as the burn ban. Washington Parish citizens can sign up to receive automated Emergency Alerts by text or call (even landline) by signing up for Hyper-Reach.

All that is needed is to call or text 985-282-2620 and follow the given prompts.

When a burn ban or any other memo is disseminated, users will receive an automated text or phone call (of their choosing) letting them know. These alerts are also on our website throughout the duration as well, www.wpgov.org.

Please share this with friends and family members on and off social media to help them stay informed, prepared, and safe. Thank you!

The burn ban has been lifted but please still use caution when burning 🔥.

The burn ban has been lifted. Citizens are encouraged to exercise extreme caution if needing to burn outdoors and avoid burning in windy conditions.

We just want to thank everyone who supported our chicken dinner fundraiser for this year! And thank you to all of our volunteers who worked hard to make this happen also. We have such a great community ♥️
