This week Chief Jonas, Asst Chief Lee, Captain Hovis and Firefighter Kennedy traveled to South Dakota for a final inspection on the new Engine 30! This new apparatus will serve as an addition to our fleet. The current 2008 Engine will roll into a second out/reserve apparatus role. We are excited for its arrival and getting it in service!

Tomorrow will be the day, that we lay our brother Mark Thomas Hoover to rest. Mark faithfully served the East Gaston Volunteer Fire Department and citizens of Gaston County for 45 years. Mark was a great man and was very respected among the department and community. We ask that you please keep the Hoover and Brown families in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time. Please see the link below for the obituary. Mark will be laid to rest with department honors at Christ’s Lutheran Church in Stanley, and his passing will be covered as a Line of Duty Death.
