Another line of storms is moving through this afternoon! Please be weather aware today!

4/27 The risk for severe weather returns to the region this afternoon. With the local area residing on the north side of the severe weather risk area, there remains uncertainty with the coverage and severity of the storms. If conditions line up just right, there is a narrow window in the mid to late afternoon for storms to produce hail, damaging winds, and perhaps a brief tornado. Bottom line, stay weather aware through the afternoon.

Despite the cancellation of the Statewide Tornado Drill, Grant County will proceed with testing warning sirens in all communities tomorrow at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM.

Collectively, our communities have installed a significant amount of new warning equipment in preparation for this year’s severe weather season, and with these changes it is important that we verify the entire system is fully operational and ready.

As firemen & women we do more than fight fires & help with traffic control. We also assist Grant County Emergency Management with weather spotting!
