Our goal is to preserve Cheney Lake and enhance the lake going experience. Please follow our page! We invite you to join Cheney Lake Association!

The Cheney Lake Association (CLA) was organized in 1990 to provide support and promote awareness of Cheney State Park. The CLA is a non-profit organization whose goals are:

• Increase awareness and encourage the use of Cheney State Park and its facilities.
• Provide outdoor experiences and education for children and families.
• Provide support and manpower for the park staff and facilities.
• Enc

ourage funding and support to benefit Cheney State Park through private donations and legislative lobbying.
• Join with other organizations who support Cheney State Park. CONTRIBUTE Donations small or large will directly benefit Cheney Lake. Corporate sponsorship's and donations are greatly appreciated, and include a CLA membership and placement on our event banners. BECOME A MEMBER Your time, expertise and a small annual fee is all that is required to become a member. Join us for monthly meetings, work days, and organizing events like OK Kids Day. FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK You don’t need to be a member to join our on-line community of fellow lake lovers. Follow us and keep posted on our upcoming events and share your lake photos.

Good work John Mounce 🤘🏼🎣

You go fishing for crappie and accidentally solve a 35-year-old mystery. That’s basically what happened to a Kansas fisherman who was scanning Cheney Lake for structure, spotted something weird on sonar, caught the crappie sitting on it first, then called authorities. It turned out to be a 1983 Jeep CJ-7 that had been stolen back in 1990. That’s the kind of fishing story you can’t make up, one minute you’re looking for brush piles, the next you’re staring at a stolen Jeep underwater and helping crack a case older than some of the people reading this. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen while fishing?
