UPDATE: Owners have been contacted and the dog and family have been reunited.

Anyone recognize our new friend? They were found on the upper east side of the borough around Appletree Alley.

If you, or someone you know, can help locate an owner to contact us at (717)653-1650.

We have already scanned her for a microchip as we do with all wandering dogs brought to us.

UPDATE: Our friend’s name is Frodo! He slipped out of the house undetected to go on a quest. Something about a ring or whatever. Anywho, he’s been reunited with family just in time for 4th lunch. Thanks to everyone who tried to get the word out.

Anyone recognize this handsome fella? The furry one our officer is holding.

He was found in the area of N Angle St near Glossbrenner United Methodist Church.

He has already been scanned for a chip, to no avail.

If you recognize him and can assist with reuniting him with his family, call us at (717)653-1650.

He’s pretty comfortable for now, but if he stays too long, he may need to grab a uniform and start training.

The current caretaker of this friendly and beautiful white German Shepherd has been caring for her since we first asked for volunteers. Unfortunately, due to issues he can explain, it has come time to find her a forever home. He has taken custody from our department, and is working with a few rescue organizations.

Anyone interested before he finalizes anything may follow this link, and contact him through that page: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1Frg4XmKNK/

***UPDATE*** Someone has stepped up to take care of her until either her family is found and they are reunited, or until she can be legally adopted. If anyone finds the owner, please call us at (717)653-1650, or have them do so.

We still have this super friendly white german shepherd (we really don't know what she is, this is our second guess) hanging out at the station with our officers. She’s incredibly sociable and has a case of separation anxiety. We do not know how friendly she is with other dogs, or children. Unfortunately, our officers cannot give her the attention she needs as often as she does. If there is anyone willing to foster her until she’s reunited with her family, or whatever next steps may be, please call us at (717)653-1650.

She’s been scanned for a microchip (as we do with all dogs that are brought to us), and taken to a local vet to help identify her or her family, and shared amongst the various found and lost pet pages.

Join us downtown this Saturday, December 6th, to celebrate the holidays at Winterfest from 2pm-5pm.

With Christmas right around the corner, Mount Joy Borough Police Department is wrapping up Toys for Tots by hoping to fill a cruiser with toys during the event.

Sgt Reed, along with many other departments, participated in the annual Cop Shop and purchased over $12,000.00 worth of toys for children in need. If you would like to participate, we will be accepting toys today through Saturday at our station or you can find us at Winterfest.
