This cartoon gets to the heart of the entire problem.

Trump may be able to bring Iran to its knees economically. He may be able to squeeze the regime, drain its resources, isolate its leaders, and force them to come crawling back to the table. Good. That is exactly what pressure is supposed to do.

But here is the part too many people still refuse to understand.

With the Iranian regime, a deal is not peace. A deal is a pause.

This is not a normal government sitting across the table trying to figure out how to improve life for its people. This is a revolutionary Islamist regime built around ideology, power, martyrdom, hatred of the West, hatred of Israel, and survival of the ruling class.

They do not value human life the way civilized nations do. They do not value their own people the way a legitimate government should. Their citizens suffer, their economy collapses, their women are brutalized, their dissenters are crushed, and still the regime pours money into terror, weapons, proxies, and threats.

That is why Golda Meir’s warning still hits so hard.

“You cannot negotiate peace with someone who has come to kill you.”

That is not warmongering. That is reality.

Obama’s Iran deal was always nonsense because it assumed the regime could be managed with paper, promises, inspections, deadlines, and diplomatic theater. It was never an ending. It was a delay. It kicked the can down the road and let politicians pretend they solved something they did not solve.

So what is the answer? I honestly do not know.

But I do know this, pretending Iran’s regime is a good faith negotiating partner is not the answer.

Economic pressure may force temporary compliance. Fear may force temporary restraint. But a “deal” with a regime like this is never the finish line. It is just another pause before the same threat returns.

At some point, the West has to stop confusing negotiation with peace.
