In 2018, she sponsored legislation requiring Tennessee schools to prominently display "In God We Trust."
In 2020, she voted against removing the bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest from the Tennessee State Capitol.
In 2016, she proposed legislation requiring individuals to use public restrooms corresponding to the s*x listed on their birth certificate and described transgender identity as a "mental disorder."
In 2023, she supported the expulsion of three Democratic lawmakers from the Tennessee House for violating chamber decorum rules.
In 2024, she sponsored a bill that forced school libraries to remove inappropriate materials.

History comes to life this June at the Fite-Fessenden House!

Families are also invited to participate in special children's activities designed to make history fun and engaging for young learners. Through hands-on experiences and interactive learning opportunities, children can discover what life was like during the American Revolution while gaining a deeper appreciation for America's founding story.

From June 12-19, the Fite-Fessenden House will host The American Revolution Experience, a traveling exhibition created by the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution as part of the nationwide commemoration of America's 250th anniversary.

This immersive exhibit features interactive digital kiosks, historical illustrations, artifacts, and firsthand accounts that connect visitors with the people and events that shaped our nation's founding. Through engaging storytelling and innovative technology, guests will explore the stories, sacrifices, and ideals of the Revolutionary era.
