🎨🍂 FALL ART FUN IS HAPPENING AT WEST! 🐾

Our Bulldog artists have been BUSY in the art room! 🎨🐶

Over the last few weeks, our 1st–5th graders have been learning all about the incredible artist Yayoi Kusama — exploring her famous dots, patterns, repetition, pumpkins, and wonderfully imaginative artwork. 🟠⚫️🔵🟡

And in a bittersweet coincidence, we recently learned that Kusama passed away on August 14 at the age of 97. She spent her entire life creating and continued making art until her final days. What a beautiful reminder for our young artists that creativity truly has no age limit! ❤️🎨

But that’s not all that’s happening in our art room! 👀🍁

Our Bulldogs are also diving into ALL things fall! Each grade level has its own special fall-inspired project, with lots of color, patterns, textures, creativity, and a few pumpkins mixed in along the way! 🎃🍂🖌️

We can’t wait to watch our halls fill up with the creativity of our little artists!

Fall + Art + Bulldogs = one VERY fun combination! 🐾🍁🎨

🚗 A few important reminders from this week’s Bulldog Beat:

⏰ Tardy Time: 7:28 AM
Doors close promptly at 7:28 AM. If you arrive at or after 7:28, please walk your child into the front office to sign them in.

🚘 Morning Staff Lane: Please do not use the left lane before 7:10 AM so our staff can safely park and prepare for the day.

🆕 Afternoon Car Line: Please do not line up in the left lane before 2:00 PM. Keeping this lane clear allows parents, visitors, and emergency vehicles to get around the building.

↔️ Merging: Please wait to merge until you pass the start of the car rider line on the East side of the building.

📱 Cell Phones: Cell phone use is prohibited by law in a school zone and drop-off zone. Please keep your phone put away while in the car line.

🐢 Speed Limit: The speed limit on school property is 10 MPH. Please help us keep our Bulldogs safe!

💗 Pink Car Tags: Please display your PINK car tag clearly in your front window every afternoon for dismissal. When your child gets into your car, please remove your tag so we know you are good to go!

This week, we’re tooting our horn for Mrs. Zielke, one of our wonderful exceptional education teachers! ❤️🐾

A parent recently shared just how much Mrs. Zielke has meant to their family, describing her as incredibly empathetic, kind, and caring. She goes above and beyond to keep families connected through regular communication and updates about their child’s day—something that means so much to parents! ❤️

But perhaps the best review of all comes straight from her student, who has made one thing VERY clear: she absolutely loves Mrs. Zielke! 🥹❤️ And really, what more could you ask for?

Mrs. Zielke, thank you for the patience, compassion, and genuine love you pour into your students each day. We are so lucky to have you at West! ❤️🐾
