***** UPDATE - THE SUSPECT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED. THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING! *****

We are requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a theft and fraud incident.

The suspect posed as a newly assigned caregiver for a local victim, under this false pretense, gained access to the victim's apartment. Once inside, the suspect stole personal belongings along with the victim's debit card. The stolen debit card was later used at multiple retail establishments.

Last evening, we completed our 10-week Citizens Police Academy.

The goal of the Citizens Police Academy is to give participants an inside look at the MLPD. You will learn the how and why of everything we do and get a transparent look at our operations. Earlier today, our MLPD Officers, along with the Bethel Park Police Department and Upper St. Clair Police Department participated in the Be a Fan Special Olympics PA Law Enforcement Torch Run.

These Officers traversed the construction riddled route starting near UPMC Mercy Hospital into Oakland, past UPMC Magee Hospital, and finally ending in the South Side near the American Eagle.

We are proud of our continuing partnership with Special Olympics Pennsylvania and we hope to host our own Hometown Torch Run in Mt. Lebanon later this fall.

Keep your phone down or get pulled over.

One glance at your phone while driving is all it takes to kill someone. And it's never worth it.

On June 1, MLPD and other South Hills police departments will target drivers using their cell phones. This is one final educational push regarding Paul Miller's Law (no cell phone use while operating a vehicle).

The warning/grace period for drivers ends on June 5, 2026 and as of June 6, drivers will be issued citations for use of cell phones while driving or stopped in traffic.
