The Village of Mt Morris was proud to be a lunch-hour stop on the 8th Annual Jaimie Cox “We’re Gonna Ride Again” Motorcycle Rally on Saturday, August 29. The event, which raised money and awareness for the
Jaimie Cox Foundation, honored our hometown hero, Jaimie, who was killed in the line of duty as a young Rockford police office.

The rally is a special collaboration between area riders, county sheriff departments, and local fire and police.

Join us for the LAST Mt. Morris Jamboree concert of the season THIS Friday, beginning at 7 PM!

The Fortunate Sons instantly conjure up the full experience of seeing Creedence Clearwater Revival in their prime. Using original vintage gear and instruments, accurate costumes, and spot-on musical ability, they have all ages dancing along.

Be sure to arrive early to save your spot and enjoy a bite to eat from food vendors, shop the sidewalk vendors and stop in the art gallery on campus during the concert.

The Village of Mt. Morris invites residents to attend a Community Input & Data Share Meeting focused on community revitalization and housing development.

The big National Straw Sculpting Competition Weekend is almost here!

This Saturday, August 22, the Mt. Morris campus square, 122 S. Wesley Ave., will be filled with Straw Fest fun all day as we close out our straw festival. Check out the full schedule below.

✨ Vote for your favorite straw sculpture by 4 p.m. Saturday. Winners announced before Grass Attack takes the stage at 7.

SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
8-10 a.m. Straw Fest Strut 5K
10 a.m.-5 p.m. Blacksmith demonstrations
10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mechanical bull rides
Noon-2 p.m. Kids’ games and straw arts & crafts
12:30-2 p.m. Straw Jam music
2-3 p.m. Straw bale street races (register by 1:30)
3-4:30 p.m. Straw Jam music
3-5 p.m. Kids’ games and straw arts & crafts
5-6:30 p.m. Straw Jam music
6:30-8:30 p.m. Historical Museum and Encore! Art Gallery open
6:55 p.m. Straw sculpting awards
7-9 p.m. Grass Attack (bluegrass) free concert at the bandshell

The Mt. Morris Jamboree is a free concert series perfect for the whole family, but donations are welcome.

Join us for Strawfest Day! This family-friendly event marks the end of the U.S. National Straw Sculpting Competition and features food, fun, games and music for the whole family to enjoy!

The day is filled with straw games, food, music, and lots of fun activities for all ages. Enjoy/discover/explore the large, whimsical and surprisingly detailed straw sculptures in the campus square, where the winners will be announced. Be sure to stick around for the free Saturday concert featuring the upbeat acoustic Bluegrass songs by Grass Attack beginning at 7 pm!

Don't miss when Acoustic Axis takes the stage for the Strawfest Saturday concert! They will perform a wide variety of Classic Rock, Blues, and Classic Country.
Be sure to arrive early to save your spot for this free concert.
