It is with profound sadness that Livingston County EMS mourns the loss of Paramedic Supervisor Robert “Rob” Sparks, who passed away yesterday surrounded by his family.
Rob joined Livingston County EMS in 2011 as a paramedic and served in that role until 2014, when he became a Paramedic Supervisor. Throughout his career, Rob was an exceptional clinician, a dedicated leader, and, above all, someone who cared deeply about the people around him.
His commitment to helping others extended far beyond the ambulance. Whether it was an emergency call, a difficult situation, or simply a friend who needed a hand, Rob was someone you could count on. If you only had one call to make, you always knew Rob would answer.
Rob’s dedication to his profession and the people he served was recognized throughout his career. He received numerous awards and accolades for his clinical excellence, leadership, and commitment to EMS, including being named New York State Paramedic of the Year.
For more than a decade, 6262 was the voice on the radio, the supervisor on the other end of the phone, and a familiar presence to countless members of our department and community.
Today, we say goodbye to a colleague, a leader, a mentor, and a friend.
We extend our deepest condolences to Rob’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
