FIREFIGHTERS DID SOME EXCELLENT TRAINING TONIGHT TO EXERCISE THEIR BREATHING TECHNIQUE USING THE BUDDY BREATHING SYSTEM AND TO HELP LEARN TO CONTROL THEIR BREATHING TO HELP WITH RESCUING A VICTIM IF NEEDED!! GREAT JOB !!!!!!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Assistant Chief
Scott Wheeler on January 8, 2026.
Assistant Chief Wheeler dedicated 42 years of active service to
the Mount Morris Township Fire Department, proudly serving out
of Fire Station #1. Following in his father’s footsteps, Scott rose
through the ranks, ultimately being appointed Assistant Chief in
2013. Throughout his career, he was a leader, mentor, and friend.
His knowledge, guidance, and passion for the fire service shaped
generations of firefighters and helped build the department we
know today. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched
and the brotherhood he strengthened.
Scott will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially for
his off-the-wall jokes and the funny memes he shared over the
years.
Chief 102, rest easy, our brother. We have the watch from here.
Funeral Arrangements:
A Celebration of Life for Scott Wheeler will be held on Friday,
January 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Martin Funeral
Home, 1194 E. Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, MI 48458. This
will be followed by a Fire Personnel Walk thru. Class A
uniforms are requested
