Join us in welcoming the newest probationary firefighters to the Mt. Olive Volunteer Fire Department. These young men began serving their community while in high school as Jr. Firefighters. Their achievement reflects years of dedication, training, and commitment to serving the community.
The six new firefighters — David Schoen Jr, Kyle Bone, Isaiah Johnson, Grason Thimsen, Carter Brunnworth, and Brett Schoen (not pictured) will now begin serving alongside veteran members of the department.
The Junior Firefighter Program was created to provide young people with hands-on exposure to fire service operations, leadership development, teamwork, and community service. Participants train alongside department members while learning fire safety, emergency response fundamentals, and the responsibilities that come with serving the public.
The department believes this milestone highlights the long-term success of the Junior Firefighter Program and encourages other young people interested in public safety careers to get involved.
