Borough Office Temporary Closure Notice: June 9, 2026

The Borough Office will be temporarily closed today, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from approximately 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This temporary closure allows our staff to attend and pay respects at the End of Watch Service for Officer Kristen Yeager.

We appreciate the community's patience and understanding as we honor Officer Yeager's memory and service.

Officer Kristin Yeager End of Watch Memorial Service

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 12:00 noon, an End of Watch Memorial Service for Central Berks Regional Police Officer Kristin Yeager will be held at the Exeter Senior High School Stadium.

General parking for all persons attending the service will be located at Reiffton Elementary School. The green shaded area on the attached map designates general parking. Street parking throughout Reiffton will be extremely limited and attendees are encouraged to utilize the designated parking areas and shuttle service.

Parking lots can be accessed via Gibraltar Road to Dunham Drive, or East 37th Street to Grant Avenue to East 40th Street. Police Officers and Fire Police will be positioned throughout the area to assist with traffic direction and parking guidance.

Courtesy shuttle buses will be available to transport attendees to and from the service locations.

If the Reiffton Elementary parking areas reach capacity, additional parking will be available at the Exeter Promenade. Shuttle service will also be provided to and from the Promenade.

Police vehicles attending the services should proceed down East 37th Street where officers will provide parking assistance and direction.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

The Borough Of Mount Penn is asking all residents to keep both your trash and recycling out if it has not been picked up today for collection tomorrow morning. J.P. Mascaro is encountering challenges with service this week and will be running on schedule next week.
