Kelly Gallaher for DPRC Chair

Kelly Gallaher for DPRC Chair I'd be honored to have your vote for Dem Party Chair in November I am creative and organized. I have built a solid track record of success and collaboration.

Dear Democratic Party Member,

After many years of working as an activist and volunteer for multiple political campaigns and voter engagement projects, I have decided to run for Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Racine County this coming November. I believe that I have the skills required to grow our county party and build upon the good work of previous party leaders. Most importantly, I am u

nafraid to stand up and protect the values of the Democratic Party. I have provided you with my resume of political and community engagement activities over the years. The coming year is crucial — we must reelect Tammy Baldwin, grow our bench of local elected officials and ensure that Donald Trump never becomes President. Thank you for taking the time to look over my qualifications. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. I would be honored to have your vote for DPRC Chair. Kelly Gallaher

I have tried to make the focus of my campaign on how much we have achieved as a county party and the steps we are taking to grow and improve. Over the years, we have shared triumphant wins and crushing losses — this is the nature of the political process.

I am not so naive to believe that our, or any, organization is perfect. There is always room for reflection and improvement. In my communications, I have been specific about the things I would like to achieve as DPRC Chair.

My opponent has taken a different approach, with a series of “behind the scenes” at the Democratic Party zoom calls. The feedback that has been communicated to me is that they are unnecessarily negative and disrespectful of the people who have spent years working to elect Democrats.

Dissent is important, but cynicism is not useful. After all, we are volunteers.

I think if you want to provide a “behind the scenes” look, you have to have actually been on the scene. Otherwise, you miss seeing the friendships and connections that make the DPRC special.

If you want to make an organization better, roll up your sleeves and get to work. To me, that’s actually the best part — creating something together, instead of just pointing a finger at what is wrong.

I am so proud to be a member of the DPRC. I have learned so much and made lifelong friends. I look forward to the good things we can accomplish together to grow our party and make it a welcoming place for everyone.

I am running to lead a party that I joined decades ago — not a few days or weeks ago.

It would never occur to me to ask to lead ANY organization without having first done the hard work and without gaining the support of the people most invested in our work.

I've been here for years.

On this day ten years ago, a group of twelve very brave activist women shut down traffic outside Paul Ryan's office in Racine to demand action on immigration.

I was so proud to serve as a legal observer, to make sure they were safe and their rights were protected.

All the women were cited by the police.

Having been a candidate for public office, I know how important it is to have a strong political organization behind you.

I am endorsed by the people who have run and the people who had their back.

Let's build a stronger party together!

I believe I am exactly the right person to lead the DPRC in 2024. I'd be honored to have your vote.

Everyone knows the Heritage Committee's Annual Ball is the highlight of the year. I was so pleased to be MC along with Chief Art Howell for two years.

So many wonderful award recipients every year!

When I began thinking about running for DPRC Chair, the first thing I did was to sit down with existing party officers, long-time volunteers and elected officials to talk about my vision and to hear their ideas. I showed them respect — not just for their years of service, but because I would need their help going into such an important election year.

I asked them for their support and they gave it to me.

We will have a board that is excited to work together, that will communicate effectively and already knows how to win — together. We are ready to lead from day one.

I have been in the fight — standing up for democratic values — for years.
