Our hearts are broken at the loss of our students, Morgan Brooks, who graduated in 2023, and her brother Gavin Brooks-Thompson, a Class of 2027 senior. MPISD extends our deepest condolences to their family, friends, teachers, and classmates and the entire community of Mount Pleasant.

Way to go, Ladies!!!

The Mt. Pleasant Junior High Cheerleaders attended a National Cheer Association (NCA) home camp in the junior high gym on June 1-3. The squad learned cheers and chants for the 2026 football season.

Four cheerleaders earned individual accolades. NCA All American Cheerleaders included Kinlee Castro, Maggie Godfrey, and Addi Limbock. Godfrey and Camilla Nova earned prestigious “Pin it Forward awards, honoring standout cheerleaders who embody qualities like exceptional leadership, kindness, teamwork, and an infectious positive attitude.

The 2026-2027 MPJH Cheerleaders are under the direction of Alexi Mayfield and Leigh Baker.

Congratulations to Karli Lowry!!! How awesome!!

Mt. Pleasant Junior High eighth grader, Karli Lowry, has qualified for the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Guthrie, Ok in June.

Lowry, a member of the MPISD rodeo team, competed against 101 of the top junior high barrel racers in the state at the Texas Junior High Rodeo Association State Finals in Gonzalez, TX on May 24-30. Lowry and horse LWS Blue Freckles (Abby) placed 7th in round one and 6th in round two to secure a spot in the short go finals. In the final round, Lowry and Abby ran a blazing 16.3 second run to win the round and finish as Reserve Champion at the finals. Points earned during these three runs as well as her year end points with TJHRA Region 4 earned her the title of Texas Reserve Champion barrel racer as well as the number two position on the Texas Nationals team.

Lowry will continue her journey at the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Guthrie, OK on June 18-28 and run for the national champion title. The Mount Pleasant Rodeo Team Advisor is Christi Lowry.

Mount Pleasant Independent School District is pleased to announce our participation in the Seamless Summer Option Program for Summer 2026. Through this program, free breakfast and lunch meals will be available to all children 18 years of age and younger at designated campus feeding sites.

‼️SUMMER WORKOUTS STARTED TODAY!‼️

Below are the calendars for both Boys (gold image) and Girls (white calendar) Summer Workouts!

Boys can be dropped off in the Junior High School parking lot, OR the designated area between Sam Parker Field and the JH field. The boys will meet behind the gym near the weight room. Workouts begin promptly at 8AM. Pick up is at the same spot at 10/10:30 depending if your athlete is doing basketball skills that day. 7th grade basketball skills are M/W and 8th grade is T/R.

Girls will be dropped off at the main JH gymnasium. Workouts begin at 8:30AM. Pick Up @ the HS Weight Room in the Fieldhouse next to the HS Football Field @ 11AM.

If your athlete is meeting for soccer skills, drop off will be at the High School soccer locker room. This is located behind the football stadiums visitors side entrance.

Pick-Up Reminder: Please ensure your athlete has a ride ready to pick them up on time as soon as workouts conclude.

Important Footwear Notice: ALL athletes must wear appropriate athletic footwear (running shoes or cleats). NO Crocs, slides, slippers, or open-toed shoes are permitted for safety reasons.
