It has come to the attention of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe that a fraudulent page is impersonating the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Powwow and messaging individuals requesting money for sponsorships, vendor fees, and event attendance.

The SCIT Powwow Committee will NEVER solicit payments through Facebook messages, personal accounts, or unofficial pages. All official communication and payments are handled directly by a SCIT Powwow Committee Member – Darcy Pilar, Seryna Acuna, Niibin Sprague, Carla Bennett, Dabian Sprague, Naomi McCormack, and Noelle Wells. This afternoon several local organizations received a donation of venison provided by the local ES sniper team. The deer were harvested from the deer-cull at Chipp-a-waters park to help manage the rising deer population.

To give back to the community the harvested deer were processed locally and donated to the SCIT Seventh Generation, The Salvation Army Food Pantry, the CMU Student Food Pantry and the Isabella County Restoration House. Members from the Mt Pleasant Police Department and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Department make up the ES sniper team.

We are proud to support wildlife management while giving back and providing food for those in need.
