Be aware!!!

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
We are receiving reports of scammers calling citizens and falsely claiming to be deputies with the Titus County Sheriff's Office. Over the weekend, the Sheriff’s Office received calls from citizens who reported receiving phone calls stating that a warrant had been issued for their arrest because they supposedly missed a court date. The caller then demanded payment to avoid being arrested.

This is a scam.

The Titus County Sheriff's Office will never call you to demand payment for warrants, missed court appearances, or fines. We will never ask you to pay using gift cards, prepaid debit cards, cryptocurrency, or payment apps.
If you receive one of these calls:
• Hang up immediately.
• Do not provide any personal or financial information.
• Do not send money.
• If you are unsure whether you have an outstanding warrant or court obligation, contact the Titus County Sheriff's Office or the appropriate court directly using a trusted phone number.

Please share this post to help warn your family, friends, and neighbors. Together, we can help prevent these scammers from victimizing members of our community.

Meet Lisette and Mia! They are college exchange students from Estonia and are working with Southwestern Advantage selling educational books and products. They have obtained a solicitors permit from MPPD and will be going door to door offering their products.

A rifle case containing a rifle was found on the side of the road near Atwoods and turned into MPPD.
To claim your property, contact MPPD’s Evidence Manager at 903-575-4004. You will need to provide identifying information.

We receive found property daily. If you have lost an item, contact us to see if it has been turned in!

During the elevated heat temperatures, the City of Mount Pleasant has opened a cooling station located at the Civic Center. It will be open to the public, Monday-Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

🤔Is your car insured? 🤔 Under Texas Transportation Code 601.191, if you operate a vehicle on a public street it must be insured. Per the statute, the first citation is a fine between $175 and $350, but the next citation can be up to $1,000. Your vehicle may also be impounded. Having insurance reduces personal liability if you are in a crash and protects everyone else on the road. MPPD officers have already written 145 citations for no insurance 😡 in the first 6 months of 2026. Drive responsibly!
