πŸš“2026 Mt. Pleasant Police Department Youth Police Academy

πŸ“…The 2026 Mt. Pleasant Police Department Youth Police Academy will be held July 13-30, 2026, operating Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

πŸ˜€This is a free program for students going into 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, and lunches are provided!

⏰The application deadline is June 5, 2026; however, applications received through June 9, 2026, will still be considered.

🚦Program highlights include hands-on law enforcement learning, demonstrations by police K-9s and the Emergency Services Team, CPR and First Aid training, field trip to Central Michigan University and the Mt. Pleasant Department of Public Safety, and boater safety instruction with the Michigan DNR. Students will have the opportunity to operate law enforcement boats, participate in water rescue activities, and earn their Boater Safety Certificate upon graduation!

As the school year comes to a close, we are saying a bittersweet goodbye to six incredible members of our school district family who are officially retiring!

πŸ’› πŸ’™ Mt. Pleasant Public Schools is incredibly grateful to have been selected for the Spring 2026 2% Grants. The Tribe has generously awarded our district a grand total of $197,850.74!

These funds will support essential programs and innovative new projects across every building in our district, including:

β˜€οΈ Meals for the kids all summer long? Yes, please! 🍎πŸ₯ͺ

The Mt. Pleasant Public Schools Summer Food Service Program is back for 2026, and we’ve got two great ways to make sure no student goes hungry this summer. No registration is requiredβ€”if they’re 18 or under (or up to 26 with an IEP), they eat for free!

Check out the options below to find what works best for your family:

🍴 Option 1: On-Site Summer Meals
When: June 15 – August 7 (Closed Friday, July 3)
Where: Pullen Elementary & Mt. Pleasant Middle School

Breakfast: 8:45 AM – 9:45 AM

Lunch: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Note: These meals are available at no cost and must be enjoyed right on-site!

πŸš— Option 2: Meals To Go! (Drive-Up)
When: Wednesdays, June 10 – August 12
Where: Mt. Pleasant High School
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

What you get: A full week’s worth of food! (7 days of breakfasts and 7 days of lunches).

Bonus: If you attend the on-site meals during the week, you can still grab a 2-day weekend pack to bridge the Saturday/Sunday gap!

The Details:

This meal program is available at no cost to you!

Eligibility: All children 18 & under.

Registration: None needed. Just show up and eat!

πŸ† Remember - Mt. Pleasant Athletics is excited to host the Division 1 MHSAA Regional track meet today at Community Memorial Stadium. Over 400 athletes from 15 schools will be competing for their chance to make it to that state championships.

🚌 Please be extra cautious as you navigate the traffic around MPHS!
