CMU Police would like to introduce our new Community Relations Officer, Mark Smoker!

Officer Smoker’s office will be located in Thorpe Hall, putting him right in the heart of campus and giving students another familiar face to connect with.

He is FIRED UP 🔥 about the new academic year and looking forward to building relationships with students, staff, and the entire CMU community!

Please note that Lot 18 will be closed on Wednesday, July 22nd, until approximately 10:30 a.m. to allow for vendor setup and unloading for the CMU Wellness Picnic. The lot will reopen for parking as soon as possible

Officer Mike Covarrubias has been a police officer for the Central Michigan Police Department for the past three years. Officer Covarrubias is retiring from law enforcement and seeking other personal opportunities. We wish Officer Covarrubias success in his future endeavors and thank him for his service to the CMU community.

Parking Services would like to remind everyone that bicycles/micro-mobility scooters must be registered, and a permit is required. To register, please go to our online self-service parking portal at parking.cmich.edu. Please take your bicycles/micro-mobility scooters home if you will not be using them on campus during the summer.

Bicycles/micro-mobility scooters that are illegally parked, unregistered, or inoperable will be impounded on May 14th by the CMU Police Department. After 30 days of impound, bicycles/micro-mobility scooters will be forwarded to the CMU Surplus Store and sold. CMU ordinances 12.02, 12.06, and 12.21.
