🧪👩‍🍳 Culinary Arts meets science! 👨‍🍳⚖️

GI-TEC Culinary Arts students explored the relationship between volume and mass by measuring equal volumes of different culinary ingredients—and discovering that 1 cup doesn’t always weigh the same!

Students ranked ingredients from the lowest expected mass to the highest, then explained the reasoning behind their predictions. 🌟

They also put measurement techniques to the test! Does it make a difference if you fluff, spoon, scoop, level, or compress an ingredient? 🥄🤔

The answer: measurement technique can change how much of an ingredient fits into the same volume—and that can change the mass!

It’s a great reminder that precision matters in the kitchen. 📏⚖️🍪
