What an amazing young man! Silas (pictured here with his mom McKenzie and ICRH staff person Nickol) had his own booth at the farmers market selling homemade jam. He made a sign to let everyone know that part of the proceeds would benefit ICRH. Today he brought in $70 to donate! We are so proud of Silas and his act of kindness! Thank you Silas!

What a wonderful time with these amazing CMU student-athletes serving at ICRH every Monday -Wednesday for the months of June and July! The Women's Basketball Team and the Football Team volunteered and helped serve meals to our guests while bringing energy and laughter with them to make it fun for all! A huge thanks to Travis and Central Michigan Athletics for coordinating this project!

ICRH has a gardener in its midst! Guest Craig (CJ) Haner expressed interest in planting a garden at ICRH and did almost all of the work to make it happen which was a LOT since he was starting from scratch. CJ would like to use the herbs, veggies and watermelon to support healthy meal and snack options for ICRH guests. His goal is to provide fresh, nutritious product that can be offered as healthy snacks or incorporated into meals and recipes prepared for guests.

We are so proud of CJ and are looking forward to his and the garden’s growth this summer! Feel free to send him a note of congratulations c/o ICRH, 555 N. Main.

Emergency Cooling Station During Extreme Heat Warning

In response to the National Weather Service’s Extreme Heat Warning in effect from July 14, 2026 through July 15, 2026—and with forecasts indicating dangerous temperatures may continue beyond that period—the Isabella County Restoration House (ICRH) has activated an Emergency Cooling Station to protect vulnerable residents from life threatening heat conditions.
Beginning today, ICRH will provide safe, air conditioned shelter daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM through July 15 for individuals without housing, those staying in places not meant for habitation, and community members referred by partner agencies.
