CMU's College Day (CD) Program introduces secondary students and their parents to universities by providing them with college preparatory information, knowledge, and skills while on a university campus, funding by the King Chavez Parks Initiative (KCP) GEAR UP was established by the 1998 amendments to the Higher Education Act of 1965 to serve the needs of the nation's low-income and most educatio

nally disadvantaged students. The state-funded program is administered by Michigan's 15 public universities by the Michigan Department of Energy Labor & Economic Growth, Bureau of Workforce Transformation, and Division of Lifelong Learning. GEAR UP supports students along the academic pipeline beginning in 7th grade with college preparation.

Yesterday The Office of Pathways to Academic Success hosted a Pathways Party for Pathways Scholars and friends in Ronan Hall in the Pathways Lounge. Scholars had the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments as first-generation college students, while networking, playing games, and enjoying subs and cake. We thank everyone for showing up and participating.
