Hope you all had a great summer! Today is the 1st day of school. PLEASE watch for children on bikes, scooters & walking. Remember that there are portable stop signs that will be out around the schools.
If you see a bus with lights activated & stop sign out, DO NOT pass. Watch for children getting on & off the bus.

Starting July 2nd ATV & UTV's are allowed on city streets in Mt. Pleasant.
They must be registered through the Recorder's office at the Henry County Courthouse. You do NOT register them at the Police Department. Our office only deals with Golf Carts.
A few reminders:
* ATV & UTV's are NOT to be driven on Washington Street and Grand Ave. You must have a valid Driver's License, must have insurance, and a slow moving vehicle sign.
* UTV, ATV & Golf Carts shall operate on city streets only from
one-half hour after sunrise to one-half hour before sunset.
*They shall not operate on city streets when weather conditions reduce visibility to less than five hundred feet.
* Passengers of Golf Carts, UTV & ATV's shall remain seated in seats provided by the manufacturer when the vehicle is in operation on city streets or other approved areas. The number of passengers shall not exceed the number of passengers intended by the manuacturer.
