Please educate seniors about common phone scams and scammer tactics to increase awareness. Encourage independent verification of caller identity before sharing personal information.

The following are some tips that may help you or someone you love from becoming a victim of these types of phone scams:

1. Learn to Recognize Common Phone Scams
2. Never Share Personal Information Over the phone such as: home address; date of birth; full name; banking details; or credit card numbers; social security number; and your mother’s maiden name
3. Register on the “do not call” Registry
4. Set Up a Bank Account with a Spending Limit
5. Monitor Bank Accounts and Credit Cards
6. Never Buy Anything Over the Phone
7. Donate Wisely
8. Never Pay to Claim a Prize or Lottery Payout
9. Resist Pressure to “Act Now”
10. Don’t Answer Calls from Unrecognized Numbers

We have been notified that there is another active scam. It is coming from a spoofed number to look like it is Maury County Sheriff's Department. The number they are calling from is 931-350-0283. This originates from a spoofing App. Hang up and call us directly @ 931-388-5151. Please share this information !!!!

Public Notice: Graco Construction will be performing some work for the Mount Pleasant Water Department on North Main Street, the area between the Mount Pleasant Post Office, First Farmers & Merchants, and The V**e & Smoke Shop, that will require them to close one lane of traffic. The construction company plan on closing the one lane around 7 pm tonight (Friday, July 31st) and will remain closed until 3 am (Saturday, August 1st).
