Samari K. Ector, 19 of New Boston, was arrested on a Morris County warrant for Assault.

When our deputies aren’t busy responding to calls, patrolling our neighborhoods, or making arrests, they’re still out working to protect the citizens of Titus County.

During the late-night and early-morning hours, our deputies routinely check local churches and businesses after they have closed for the day. These security checks help ensure that buildings are secure and that there are no signs of break-ins, vandalism, or other suspicious activity.

These proactive patrols may not always be seen, but they are an important part of keeping our community safe. Our deputies take pride in protecting the people, businesses, churches, and property that make Titus County a great place to live.

🚔 Titus County Sheriff’s Office — Serving Our Community

Sometimes, it’s the simple acts of kindness that make the biggest difference.

Late last night, Deputy Hunter Lawrence stopped to check on a motorist who was stranded on the side of the road after their vehicle over heated and broke down. Deputy Lawrence stayed with the motorist, offered assistance, and helped ensure the motorist was safe while a solution was found.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan also stopped to lend a helping hand and ultimately gave the motorist a ride all the way home in another county. 🙏

We’re proud of Deputy Lawrence for taking the time to stop and assist a citizen in need, and we’re equally grateful for the Good Samaritan who stepped up to help a fellow member of our community.

This is what community and service are all about. 💙

James G. Henley, 65 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested for a Class C warrant.

Christopher E. Ortega, 18 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on a warrant for Assault Family Violence.

William D. Owens, 58 Mt. Pleasant, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a warrant for Tampering with Evidence.

Brandon L. Parkman, 23 of Bloomburg, was arrested on a warrant for Sexual Assault.

Robert L. Grant Jr., 51 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on a warrant for Theft.

Debbie A. Harris, 48 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on 2 warrants for Theft, 2 warrants for Credit/Debit Card Abuse, and a Hopkins County warrant for Theft.

Kenneth R. Phillips Jr., 28 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on a warrant for Indecency with a Child.

Rhea T. Waxley, 38 of Cypress, was arrested for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle, and a Wynn Parrish warrant for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle.

On August 31, 2026, Deputy Kaden Orr observed William Owens traveling east bound on Titus County Road 3210 in a vehicle. Owens was known to have an outstanding felony warrant through the Titus County Sheriff’s Office for Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence.

Deputy Orr observed Owens pull into a driveway and exit the vehicle. Owens was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant. A subsequent search of Owens’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and ma*****na.

Owens was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a third-degree felony. He was booked into the Titus County Jail on the new charge and the outstanding warrant. No bond has been set at this time.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FELONY DRUG ARREST

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Titus County Sheriff’s Deputies Angie Davis and Luke Batts were patrolling Texas State Highway 11 within Titus County when they observed a vehicle pass a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper who was conducting a traffic stop on the shoulder of the road with his emergency red and blue lights activated. The vehicle failed to slow down or move over as required by Texas law. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

During the traffic stop, Deputies detected the odor of ma*****na, which led to a search of the vehicle. During the search, approximately 8 grams of suspected ecstasy, along with ma*****na-related paraphernalia, was located.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, 27-year-old Jessica Goodale was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony.

Zackary J. Gray, 24 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested for Theft.

Ernesto A. Romero, 23 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Ma*****na.

Harold S. Summers, 46 of Pittsburg, was arrested for Violation of a Protective Order, and Theft.

Laci N. Wood, 18 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested for Theft, and 2 Class C warrants.
