Looking for a great read and LOVE Florida history? Highly suggest “A Land Remembered” (and many of Patrick Smith’s books) 📚.
Over the years, my mom used to tell me about this book and tried to encourage me to read it. She loved it. But I didn’t listen, mostly because I’ve never been the greatest reader.

Mom passed a couple years ago now, I finally got around to reading it , and - like most things my mother told me to do but I didn’t listen -I’m regretting not having read it sooner. Or, maybe this is the time in my life I was meant to read it 🤔🤷‍♀️😅💜.

Don’t wait for your mom to tell you-get the book (and a pile of puppies with a Klondike bar!) and read it! You’ll be glad you did 💜🙌

Our Gingerbread “The Cornelius” is 100 years old this year ! (at least, some tales of being built in 1923) along with the amazing community built around it. Our family has lived in Mount Plymouth now around 3 decades and proud to maintain the history 🥹
and just IF these walls could speak 🙌😃 the stories it could tell from those first years and more!
Who loves old houses and Florida’s history? Let’s share and celebrate this milestone!

We have coquina throughout the Gingerbread, from the notoriously crooked chimney to an entire wall of the original garage (now the man cave). They hauled the coquina all the way across the state back in 1920s! Beautiful rock!
