πŸ—οΈ Leaving Their Mark on Westbrook! 🎨

This week, our preschoolers, kindergarteners, and first graders got to be part of something pretty special: they each placed their handprint on a beam that will become part of the new Westbrook addition! Staff added their names, too!

A special way for our youngest learners to be part of Westbrook’s future! πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ§‘

🚨 September is National Preparedness Month!

Keeping our students and staff safe means being prepared. At District 57, our schools regularly practice emergency procedures, conduct drills, review safety plans, and work with local partners so we’re ready when it matters most.

Families can take simple steps to prepare at home, too. 🏠 The American Red Cross offers helpful tips for building a kit, making a plan, and staying informed.

πŸ«πŸ“Έ Help us preserve Lincoln's legacy.

This school year marks the final year of the Lincoln Middle School building before our new Lincoln opens in 2027.

For generations, Lincoln has been the backdrop for friendships, learning, performances, championships, traditions, and countless memories. Before we say goodbye to the building, we want to capture the stories that made it special.

We're inviting students, alumni, families, current and former staff members, and community members to share a photo and the story behind it through our Lincoln Legacy Project.

Whether your memory is from 1952 or 2026, we'd love to hear it.

Submit your photo and story here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSffqeZ8MtWbgsMyHVEJMDaRnjnLjjkeyIGtLZp7rJuAom-mGA/viewform?usp=dialog

Together, let's preserve 75 years of Lincoln historyβ€”one story at a time.

🎢🎻🎺 Today, our fifth graders at Lions Park and Fairview Elementary took part in a special D57 tradition: Fifth Grade Introduction to Instruments!

Students got to meet these three amazing musical leaders (left to right)β€”Sean Spenner, Middle School Band Director; Ethan Groharing, 5th Grade Band Director; and Tim Janiszewski, Orchestra Directorβ€”and were introduced to the many instruments they can choose to explore through band and orchestra.

And not to brag…but two of these incredible music educators are D57 alumni themselves! πŸŽ“πŸ‘ Shoutout to Sean and Ethan for coming full circle and inspiring the next generation of musicians right here in D57.
