📣 Have you heard the news?!

Starting the first weekend of May, the Village of Mount Prospect is relaunching its alfresco dining program on Prospect Avenue after a successful pilot run in 2024. The program temporarily transforms six on-street parking spots into outdoor dining areas in front of Lady Dahlia Tequila Bar and Patina Wine Bar.

This open-air dining space is sheltered by concrete barriers and designed to prioritize safe pedestrian access in the Prospect Avenue District. Charming touches like planters, umbrellas, and decorative lighting aim to enhance the dining experience and foster a lively, unique, and inviting atmosphere.

In advance of the pilot launch last summer, the Village striped approximately 90 new parallel parking stalls along Prospect Avenue. Since then, the Village secured an additional 40 spaces in the parking lot of St. Mark Lutheran Church and implemented a pilot program for complimentary valet parking.

While enjoying the season, locals and visitors alike are encouraged to visit our other downtown merchants and explore the numerous dining options Mount Prospect has to offer!

🪇🐎 It's time to gear up for festival season! The first weekend of May kicks off Mount Prospect's outdoor entertainment season. New on May 3 is the Cinco de Derby Street Festival held by Whiskey Hill Brewery & Kitchen- Mt. Prospect (99 W. Prospect Ave.). This is a free, all-ages event.

From 3-10 pm, enjoy local food vendors, an outdoor showing of the Kentucky Derby on a jumbo TV, live mariachi bands, Latin DJ sets, and Revolucion De Amor Mana Tribute Band.

We want to hear from you! To encourage community participation for the Mount Prospect Transit Study, we are holding a pop-up focus group. On Friday, March 14, come visit our display tables at RecPlex (420 W. Dempster St.) to learn about the study and provide input to improve transportation options within and around the Village. The pop-up is from 11:30am to 2pm, and community members are free to stop by any time during these hours. And, for five minutes of your time, you can enter into a raffle for a $25 VISA gift card! No registration required - must be a Mount Prospect resident to be eligible for the raffle.

At the Wednesday, November 6th meeting of the Village Board, Mayor Hoefert had the pleasure of reading a proclamation in honor of the holiday of Diwali. The proclamation was accepted by Rakesh Malhotra, President of the Global Indian Diaspora Foundation and members of the Indian community.
