This week, please help us welcome Amaya Gonzalez, our new Secretary at River Trails Middle School!

Amaya is a Loyola University Chicago graduate who brings nearly 9 years of nannying experience and a solid background in retail store management. Described by colleagues as determined and inviting, she is most looking forward to collaborating with new faces and learning something from everyone she meets!

We are proud to introduce a new feature on our social media channels: Welcome Wednesday! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be showcasing the new teachers and staff joining our district family.

To kick things off, help us welcome Ms. Emily Zwijack, the new Orchestra Director at River Trails Middle School!

Ms. Zwijack brings 8 years of teaching experience and holds degrees in both Music Education and Violin Performance. Known by her colleagues as organized, dedicated, and funny, she is most excited to collaborate with staff and inspire a love of learning and music in her students.

Fun fact: She is also a figure skating coach and can play her violin while spinning and jumping on the ice! ⛸️🎶
