Great day for Leadership Montgomery County on our Industry Day!

We visited the Mt. Sterling-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development office, Olympic Steel, RIP Technologies, Neogen, and BMC Contracting to learn more about the industries driving growth in our community. We also enjoyed lunch featuring guest speaker Rocky Adkins and a check presentation of $600,000 in KDPI funds to the Montgomery County Fiscal Court. We even got to drive by the future home of the new Walters Industrial Park, which will be an exciting addition to Montgomery County’s continued growth.

A big thank you to Jason Rainey, Executive Director of Mt. Sterling–Montgomery Co. Economic Development, for hosting the day and sharing valuable insight on the progress and opportunities happening in Montgomery County. Also, thank you to RIP Technologies for stepping in last minute to let us visit — and Sunny the golden retriever was definitely a highlight of the day!

Grateful for the chance to see firsthand the innovation, investment, and leadership that continue to move our community forward.

Leadership Montgomery County had an outstanding State Government Day in Frankfort! It was a full day of learning, connection, and firsthand insight into how state leadership and policy directly impact our local communities.

We are incredibly grateful to the Kentucky Chamber for their warm hospitality, especially Amy Cloud and Annie Santos for helping make the day so welcoming and impactful. A special thank you to Representative David Hale and Senator Greg Elkins for taking time out of their busy schedules to speak with our class and provide insight into the legislative process and state priorities. We also appreciate the team at the Kentucky Treasury for hosting us and sharing their expertise. Lunch at Serafini featured guest speaker Kristina Slattery with the Cabinet for Economic Development, who offered a powerful look at economic growth and opportunity across the Commonwealth. We closed the day with a behind-the-scenes tour of Buffalo Trace Distillery, gaining a deeper appreciation for Kentucky’s rich heritage and the vital role the bourbon industry plays in driving our state’s economy and tourism.

Days like this energize our class and strengthen our commitment to leading and serving Montgomery County well!
