It's National Infant Immunization Week! Keeping your baby up to date on crucial preventative vaccines will help keep them from contracting common and potentially fatal illnesses such as pertussis (whooping cough), measles, and polio.

Below is an image from the CDC's updated recommended immunizations schedule. It is a combined schedule, meaning it covers general vaccines recommended from birth to age 18 years. Not all children will need all vaccines, so it is best to consult with your child's pediatrician who know their health history, living situation, daily routine, and can recommend which vaccines to take and which ones can be delayed until school age.

For more information about routine vaccinations, talk to your child's pediatrician, their healthcare provider, or visit the CDC's website here: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/imz-schedules/child-adolescent-age.html

🚨RECALL NOTICE🚨

The Food and Drug Administration announced the Class II recall of nearly 90,000 bottles of children’s medication due to presence of foreign substance: the firm received complaints for a gel-like mass and black particles in the product.

A Class II recall is, "A situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote," the FDA says.

The recalled medication is a 100-milligram per 5-milliliter oral suspension sold in 4-fluid-ounce bottles. The affected lot numbers are 7261973A and 7261974A, with an expiration date of Jan. 31, 2027. The recall number is D-0390-2026.

Health officials advise consumers who have the recalled ibuprofen to stop using it immediately. The FDA said it has not received reports of serious adverse health effects related to the recall.

Have a few picky eaters? Cook together! Getting kids involved in the kitchen can spark their interest in trying new foods and allow them to experiment with different textures and flavors (plus, they are more likely to eat something they make). Ask them to add fresh fruit like blueberries to yogurt in a delicious breakfast cup.
