Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates the resilience, strength, and enduring contributions of African Americans throughout our nation's history.

Juneteenth is a reminder of how far we've come and the work that continues to build a more just, equitable, and united future for all.

The City of Mount Vernon wishes everyone a meaningful Juneteenth as we reflect on our shared history, celebrate freedom, and uplift the values of unity, hope, and opportunity.

Happy Juneteenth!

Together, we are doing more than creating jobs—we are empowering young people with the skills, experience, and opportunities they need to succeed.

By investing in our youth, we are strengthening our families, building a future workforce, and creating a stronger community for generations to come. The Mount Vernon Youth Bureau’s Summer Youth Employment Program and Youth Employment Program demonstrate what’s possible when young people are given the tools and support to thrive.

Their potential is limitless, and their future is bright. 🌟
