Good Friday morning everyone!
Once again we’re trying to outreach as much as possible to get teens to join our Junior firefighters program. As stated before, this is a great opportunity for young adults to give back and learn new skills. But also firefighting is not just fighting fires.
With our Fire and Rescue department we serve our community in multiple ways. We answer emergency calls for wrecks, animal rescues, land searches, traffic control, helicopter landing zones for our EMS service, and many, many more. At the end of the day, actually fighting fire is just part of the job. It’s an outstanding and rewarding career or volunteer service to be a part of.
This field of service not only lets you learn and hone skills, but it’s also rewarding on an emotional and relationships level. It gives you great pride knowing you are serving and giving back. You develop a love for this work and the people you help. Whether it be someone you know or someone from across the country passing through our county. We make a difference and YOU can be that difference in peoples lives as well.
We answer the calls when people are at their most vulnerable moments and to know you helped and gave them a sense of compassion/stabilization is a feeling that words can’t describe perfectly. It’s also a special service path for relationships. The people you meet will last in your lives forever. We are a family. We have each other’s backs and are there for one another when needed. There’s also no one who has a better sense of humor. These friendships you make will last you a lifetime.
So in conclusion, we are just trying to spread the word as much as possible to reach the ones who will choose to be the difference in our community. Thank you.
