With e-bikes and e-scooters becoming more common in our community, the City is reviewing our current regulations and considering updates to support safe and responsible riding. 🚧 Upcoming Riverwalk Closure! D**e District 3 and the Army Corps of Engineers will be repairing our levee along the northern section of the Riverwalk (between the Division Street Bridge and Lion's Park) starting August 24th. That section of the Riverwalk will be closed to accommodate construction, so please follow the posted detour along Freeway Drive. The project will repair damage caused to the levee during the December 2025 flood event and is an important part of preparing for the next flood season!

🚧PLAN ALTERNATE ROUTES🚧: BNSF emergency repairs to the railroad crossing at Blackburn and Old Hwy 99 are expected to cause up to 1-hour delays from August 17-21, 7am to 7pm. 🚫Detour routes will be in place🚫.

🚧 Smoother roads are on the way! We're getting ready for a pavement overlay project on Old Hwy 99 to extend the life of the roadway.

📍 Where: Old Hwy 99 S from Blackburn Road south to the intersection with Anderson Road
🗓️ When: 7am - 6pm, August 10 - September 26, 2026. This will include some night work.
🛣️ What: Grinding and replacing the top 3 inches of asphalt. Upgrading ADA ramps to comply with requirements of the Public Right-of-Way- Accessibility Guidelines or establishing pedestrian No Crossing zones, as required.

During construction you may hear noise from machinery used in asphalt milling and paving operations. Traffic will also be affected by construction activities. Thank you in advance for you patience.

The project is funded with Transportation Benefit District funds as part of the City’s Pavement Preservation Program!

Three Two One…Play! The new playground at Hillcrest Park is open to the public! It was so fun to see families playing on the slides and swings at the ribbon cutting on Saturday. The new ADA accessible playground was designed with all users in mind by Northwest Playground with input from the community, including guidance from Cascadia Clubhouse and SPARC. It was funded by the Levy for Basic Public Safety, Essential Services and Improvements that voters approved last year. Share this with someone who might want to play here 💚
